The sailing community is full of amazing people. This post will introduce you to one of them – Olle Nash
Olle is one of our neighbours in the marina. Over the past few years, life has thrown many challenges at him, but he has always tackled them with the utmost positivity.
In 2018, he was diagnosed with a rare condition – Extra Mammary Paget’s Disease. This was the start of a complete change in his life with continual visits to hospitals, consultations with specialists and various treatments for cancer, including major surgery and chemotherapy. Throughout this period, he has, and continues to receive tremendous support from, not only his family and friends, but also, of course, the NHS and MacMillan Cancer Support.
He is now in a place where he wants to give something back, so he is currently planning to sail around the UK, raising awareness (and money) for the excellent MacMillan Support Service. This would be an extraordinary feat under normal circumstances, but Olle is intending to do this while still undergoing treatment for cancer.
Covid allowing, he plans to leave Ipswich in April 2021 and spend three months sailing around the UK, with regular stops on route for treatment and recovery time.
So far, Olle has raised over £6,500 through pages on GoFundMe and JustGiving.

Oh and spread the word…every little helps!
Wouldn’t our world be a better place if we had more people like Olly around….?
I’d just like to say how proud I am to have him as a friend from way back when in our Army Days……a true inspiration to us all and I have absolutely no doubt that he will complete his mission 😊
Hi Les,
Agree with your comments completely…the world definitely needs a few more like him! So positive no matter what life throws at him…
I am looking forward to following his adventures.
